Who are Grieves Design? We are a graphic designers and a print marketing business based in The Hub, Washington in the North East of England, established in March 2013 by Washington based graphic designer Gavin Grieves.
Creating original graphic design solutions to promote and market businesses all over the globe, focusing on SMEs in their homeland of the North East...
And so it begins...
Graduating from the City of Sunderland University in July 2000 with a BA(hons) Degree in Information Design. Prior to that Gavin attended Lord Lawson of Beamish School and Sixth From in Birtley, County Durham only a few miles from his home in Washington where his passion for graphic design began at tender the age of 14.
Design education...
Starting as a Mac Operator in the education sector straight out of Uni , Gav was promoted to graphic designer within 12 months and handed the responsibility of managing a small Design & Print Studio in County Durham. During the next 3 years he did freelance work for companies such as NatWest and Woolworths, Birtley Town FC and Kenton School in Newcastle.
In August 2005 Gav became the graphic designer at Kenton School in Newcastle upon Tyne, the fifth largest secondary school in the UK.
3 years later he landed an in-house graphic design roll at Newcastle United FC where he became the graphic designer for the NUFC retail department.
Gav spent 5 very creative years working for NUFC designing material for marketing, memberships, hospitality, box office, the foundation, season tickets but mainly for retail and the club's five stores and online shop. He worked with companies such as Adidas, Puma, Northern Rock and Virgin Money, establishing excellent relationships with many printers and marketing companies in Newcastle upon Tyne and across the North East region.

Grieves Design have branded countless local businesses and sole traders around the region and can now boast a product list of over 50 design, print, marketing and web products. All designed and created with your business ethos and target audience at the heart of their ideas.
Fast forward 8 years and Grieves Design can now boast a very large and successful client base which includes, Frank Bruno and his Foundation, Pro Quip Golf, Sunderland AFC, NHS, RSPCA, Grosvenor Casinos, Mercure Hotels, The Holiday Inn, Foxy Hair Extensions, Kenton School and Studio West with work stretching the globe as far as the US, Australia and Qatar.

We have a wealth of experience with businesses of all sizes, from sole traders to blue collar clients. Cake makers to casinos, we can promise you we treat every client with the same creative brush.
